FEINDEF 2025, International Defence and Security Fair

The Spanish International Defence and Security Fair, FEINDEF, has established itself as a benchmark event at national and international level. But what exactly is FEINDEF and why does it arouse so much interest in the sector?

What is FEINDEF?

FEINDEF is a biennial fair held in Spain that acts as a meeting point for companies, institutions, universities and other actors in the field of defence and security. Its main objective is to promote innovation, collaboration and technological development in these strategic sectors. Throughout its editions, FEINDEF has proven to be a crucial platform for the presentation of new technologies, the generation of business opportunities and the debate on the challenges and future of global security. This year 2025 will celebrate its fourth edition organised by the FEINDEF Foundation with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

Why is it so important?

The relevance of this fair lies in several key factors:

• It provides a unique space for companies in the sector, both national and international, to network, explore synergies and present their latest solutions and products.
• It showcases the latest technological advances in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence applied to defence, unmanned vehicles, communication systems and more. This encourages the adoption of new technologies and the enhancement of defence and security capabilities.
• Includes conferences, roundtables and expert meetings to discuss current and future security and defence challenges.
• It attracts official delegations and companies from numerous countries, which makes it an excellent opportunity for the internationalisation of the Spanish defence and security sector.

When and where does it take place?

It will be held from 12 to 14 May 2025 at IFEMA, Madrid. Its opening hours will be from 9:30 to 18:00.

Expectations for FEINDEF 2025

Although there are still several weeks to go, expectations for FEINDEF 2025 are high. More international companies and delegations are expected to attend, as well as the presentation of even more disruptive innovations. Given the increasing complexity of security challenges, both globally and nationally, the international defence and security trade fair is a key venue for finding solutions and strengthening collaboration between the different players in the sector.

More than 500 exhibiting companies are expected to participate, of which it is estimated that 35% will be international and from the 5 continents; the attendance of 100 official delegations and the representation of 65 countries. The exhibition area will cover more than 60,000 square metres distributed in three pavilions, 25% larger than the third edition; and a total of 35,000 professional attendees are expected, more than in the last edition.

In short, FEINDEF is much more than a trade fair; it is a strategic event that drives innovation, fosters collaboration and sets the course for the defence and security sector in Spain and internationally.
